a beautiful rendering of such a dreary scenery.

Any chance you'd let me use it as the background for my blog? (monnotorium dot com) I have just created an account just to ask you this, regardless I really like this steampunk feel and the general design is great, thanks :D

Love this! How do you work with perspective and the dynamics of it? I've been trying my hand at it - a lot harder then I thought it would be.

sorry for the late response! basically to get better at perspective draw TONS of free hand converging straight lines, boxes, and ellipses everyday. no rulers! learn about drawing through the forms, vertical convergence, elliptical construction, etc. i highly recommend checking out scott robertson's perspective form drawing DVD: [link]

it's not as exciting or as glamorous as other tutorial DVDs, but if you take the time to learn the material, your work will move in leaps and bounds. perspective is the foundation for everything :)

No, no, thank you for replying! Oh yes, when I started to get more interested in cityscapes and so on (Looking at so many portraits and figures, got kind of boring haha), at first I didn't think it would be TOO hard. But as I thought about it more it really hit me. Now I've been using some rulers but ugh, if I don't have one on me I'm doing a lot of guessing haha. So thanks for the tips and link.

Hey! I love your stuff, it's really refreshing and I always know it's your stuff when I see it (before looking at the tag haha). Keep up the great work, I love checking it out :D

well if you learn how form and perspective works there's little room for guessing. i know it sounds cliche but all it really takes is time and practice...and a little bit of sweat, blood and tears :)

and thanks, glad you dig the work!
